We take in dogs with terminal illnesses and make sure their last months, weeks or days are filled with love and care. They are given the vet care they need, warm blankets, comfy beds, yummy treats, outings on the coast and anything else their hearts' desire. They live in homes and are a part of a family until it's time for them to cross the rainbow bridge. No dog should die alone in a shelter and Coastal Mutts is here to make sure they don't.

About Us

Who We Are:

Christine Falletti (Founder & CEO): Christine did not grow up around animals. She never had any pets as a child. In fact, she had a slight fear of dogs having never been around them them until she met Charcoal 17 years ago.  Charcoal was a 2 year old black lab that lived with Christine's soon to be husband, Dominic. She fell in love with dogs and has been deeply involved in the rescue community ever since. After working with and adopting senior dogs, she knew she wanted to do something more for these special souls and Coastal Mutts was created!

Nicole Shamrock-Thomas (CFO): As a child Nicole’s family always adopted dogs from shelters. As an adult she started to work with pit bulls & fell in love! She likes to dip her toes on the dangerous side of the line & loves adventure. Nicole has been fostering rescue dogs since 2012. She moved to the coast in 2015 where she met her neighbor Christine. Given the chance to help senior dogs live out their best lives, she couldn’t say no!

Patricia Appel (Secretary): Volunteering in my community is something I couldn’t wait to have time for when I was too busy in my younger years developing my career, raising kids and caring for aging parents. Top among those volunteering interests was a desire to raise the quality of the lives of animals within my community.  I’ve owned rescues all of my life, and when Christine asked me to serve on the board of her non-profit, how could I say no? I can’t think of a more meaningful way to spend my time and energy than helping her and these wonderful pups who deserve to live out the best days of their lives.
